Whitening Option 1
At Clover Hills Dental our dental professionals offer our Surrey patients custom teeth whitening systems to help remove stains and whiten teeth.
This type of tooth whitening requires two visits to our Surrey dental office.
At your first appointment, impressions (molds) will be made of your teeth in order to create clear custom whitening trays that fit your smile precisely.
When you return to our dental office for your second appointment, you will try on the trays to ensure that they fit well. Adjustments can be made to the trays if required.
You will be supplied with whitening solution to use along with your custom trays, and full instructions on how to use the professional teeth whitening treatment in the comfort of your own home.
The Process
Your custom whitening trays are worn along with the special whitening solution. The trays are surprisingly lightweight and comfortable to wear.
Wear your trays with the whitening solution either twice a day for 30 minutes or overnight for a couple of weeks depending on the degree of staining and desired level of whitening.
Typically, it will take 10-14 days to achieve the desired level of whiteness. If you are unsure how white is white enough visit your Surrey dentist for advice.
Be sure to hang on to your whitening trays after you have completed your whitening treatment. When it's time for a touch-up you will be able to reuse your trays, just contact Clover Hills Dental for more of the whitening solution.
Note: It is normal to experience tooth sensitivity during the time you are whitening your teeth, but it will subside shortly after you have stopped bleaching.
Whitening Option 2
Another effective teeth whitening treatment is Zoom!® Chairside Whitening which is done in our dental office.
The Zoom!® bleaching process lightens the dentin and enamel of the teeth using a gel containing hydrogen peroxide.
The Process
A mercury metal halide light is used to activate the gel and speed-up the whitening process. This specialized light contains a unique infrared filter that works to reduce the amount of heat (and therefore sensitivity) on the surface of the teeth during the procedure.
